Waste and Materials Used
The Machining and Composites classes had to redesign the top of our arcade several times. They used the wet-saw mainly, but they also used the bandsaw, pneumatic drills, die grinders, 90 degree sanders and orbital sanders. The ratio of sheet metal to composite is 55%-45%. they had about 255 square feet of material and ended up using about 215 square feet which is around a 17.5% loss in materials. They also used the water jet to cut out the button panel as the die grinder would have made it too messy for how close the buttons were.
Parts Ordering List / Overall Cost
The overall cost for the materials that the ITS & Cyber security class required was $51.42. The machining and composites classes did not require any extra materials other than the materials they had available in their class.
